Congressman Chris Deluzio, who represents Pennsylvania’s 17th district and lives in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania, has taken to social media to express his concerns over corruption, leadership accountability, and federal budget cuts. Deluzio, who assumed office in 2023, shares his personal views on these matters, reflecting his commitment to transparency and responsibility in governance.
On April 22, 2025, Deluzio commented on public disdain for corruption in government, emphasizing that no individual should benefit personally from holding public office. He stated, “People hate corruption like this for good reason—nobody should be lining their own pockets (or making their own meme coins) off public office.”
Later that day, he tweeted about leadership and accountability, referring indirectly to Secretary Hegseth. He mentioned a Truman quote displayed in his office emphasizing responsibility and criticized Hegseth’s leadership, stating that he avoided taking responsibility and suggested his dismissal. Deluzio stressed, “I’ve got this Truman quote displayed in my office as a reminder that leadership is about taking responsibility. Secretary Hegseth has proven he’s incapable of this, and now he’s throwing staff under the bus. He should’ve been fired weeks ago, and he sure as hell needs to go now.”
On April 23, Deluzio addressed federal budget cuts, highlighting their impact on children and farmers, and thanked Quaker Valley for hosting him. He commented on how these cuts hinder the provision of healthy meals from local farmers to children, asserting, “These cuts are bad for kids and bad for farmers. Thanks @quakervalley for hosting me yesterday to learn how these federal cuts will make it harder to get our kids healthy meals from local farmers.”
These statements reflect Deluzio’s ongoing engagement with pressing political and social issues in his district and nationwide.
