Congressman Chris Deluzio, who represents Pennsylvania’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently taken to social media to comment on veterans’ care, Social Security, and economic issues affecting Americans.
On August 13, 2025, Deluzio criticized former President Donald Trump and his VA Secretary Doug Collins by stating: “Donald Trump and his VA Secretary, Doug Collins, are union busting the VA to make it easier to privatize and gut care for my fellow veterans. Care will get worse, especially for rural veterans who live far from private hospitals and doctor’s offices.”
The following day, marking a significant anniversary for a key federal program, Deluzio posted: “Social Security was created 90 years ago today. It’s a bedrock national promise delivering benefits to more than 180,000 Americans who I represent—who worked hard and EARNED benefits. I will always stand strong to defend Social Security for generations to come.” This statement reflects his ongoing commitment to defending Social Security for his constituents.
On August 15, Deluzio addressed economic pressures faced by working Americans with a critique of Trump-era trade policies: “High costs are crushing hardworking people. Trump’s reckless trade war is only making it worse.”
Chris Deluzio began serving as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 17th District in 2023 after succeeding Conor Lamb. Born in Pittsburgh in 1984 and currently residing in Aspinwall, Deluzio continues to address both local and national issues through public statements and legislative action.
