Congressman Chris Deluzio, representing Pennsylvania’s 17th district, has been vocal on several key issues through his recent tweets. As a member of the U.S. Congress since 2023, Deluzio has shared his views on industrial strategy, brain injury advocacy, and trade policy.

On March 7, 2025, Congressman Deluzio advocated for the use of tariffs as part of a broader industrial strategy aimed at revitalizing American manufacturing. He emphasized that this approach is not only about economic benefits but also about restoring trust in communities affected by adverse trade policies. “Democrats should embrace tariffs as one part of a broader industrial strategy to revitalize manufacturing and make whole communities hollowed out by bad trade policy. This isn’t just about making the economy work for more people; it’s about earning back trust and faith.”

On March 10, 2025, Deluzio announced his role as co-chair of the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force alongside fellow Navy veteran Representative Luttrell. He expressed commitment to advocating for brain injury survivors nationwide and within the veteran community. “I’m proud to co-chair the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force with my colleague, and fellow Navy veteran, @RepLuttrell. Let’s get to work on behalf of brain injury survivors across the country and in the veteran community.”

Later that day, Deluzio criticized the Trump administration’s efforts against fentanyl trafficking from China. He highlighted the exploitation of a trade loophole that allows traffickers to smuggle fentanyl into the United States via low-value packages. “If the Trump team really wanted to fight fentanyl—or make China pay the new tariffs—they’d close the “de minimis” trade loophole. Traffickers exploit it to smuggle fentanyl in some of the 4 million “low value” packages imported from China every single day that use this loophole…”
