Congressman Chris Deluzio, who represents Pennsylvania’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform this week to address ongoing economic and political challenges, including inflation, government shutdowns, and food assistance funding.
On October 30, 2025, Deluzio posted about the impact of rising prices on American families. He wrote: ” inflation is up, costs are still up, and life is still too expensive these days. I’m in the fight to lower costs—a big part of the answer is putting more muscle into breaking monopoly power and getting more competition in our economy. Oh, and no dumb trade wars!”
Later that day, Deluzio addressed the ongoing government shutdown. In a tweet dated October 30, 2025, he stated: “We shouldn’t be in this foolish government shutdown in the first place. Speaker Mike Johnson needs to bring the House back into session so we can hammer out a deal to get federal workers back on the job & paid, and stop rising healthcare costs & missed SNAP funds from pummeling”
On October 31, 2025, Deluzio called for immediate action from federal officials regarding food assistance programs. He tweeted: “The Trump Administration can act right now to fund SNAP with emergency funds—and they need to. Washington politicians should stop playing games when it comes to Americans putting food on the table. [2/2]”
Chris Deluzio has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding Conor Lamb as representative for Pennsylvania’s 17th district. Born in Pittsburgh in 1984 and currently residing in Aspinwall at age 38, Deluzio continues to use his public platform to highlight issues related to economic policy and government operations.
