Congressman Chris Deluzio, who represents Pennsylvania’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared his views on national security protocols, classroom smartphone policies, and the ongoing government shutdown through a series of social media posts.
On October 2, 2025, Deluzio criticized new requirements imposed on military leaders regarding classified information. He stated: “This is paranoid stuff, forcing polygraph tests and non-disclosure agreements on military leaders who already face stiff penalties and laws about protecting classified information.” (posted October 2, 2025).
Later that day, Deluzio addressed changes in local education policy concerning technology use in schools. He wrote: “My new report finds that more schools across our region are starting to do something about addictive and distracting smartphones in the classroom. Good. Want to know the policy for schools in your area? Read my full report: https://t.co/lNQWSbatVUhttps://t.co/1jyiv8jXDp” (posted October 2, 2025).
In a third post made on the same date, Deluzio commented on the federal government shutdown and healthcare issues. He said: “Let’s be clear. This is why Republicans shut down the government—they refused to work with Democrats to clean up this healthcare mess they made. I’m ready to get to work to stop this disaster and reopen the government. https://t.co/FqfLudc41X” (posted October 2, 2025).
Chris Deluzio has served as a member of Congress since replacing Conor Lamb in 2023 and represents constituents from Pennsylvania’s 17th district. Born in Pittsburgh in 1984, Deluzio currently resides in Aspinwall.
