Congressman Chris Deluzio, who has represented Pennsylvania’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently addressed economic and labor issues through a series of posts on social media.
On October 18, 2025, Deluzio marked the third anniversary of a significant labor strike, stating, “Three years ago today, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newsroom workers went on strike to demand basic healthcare benefits, fair pay, and dignity on the job. It’s the longest ongoing strike in America.
Terminating striking workers’ health coverage to gain leverage over workers”.
The following day, Deluzio highlighted domestic manufacturing with a brief post: “Let’s make more stuff right HERE in America and in Western PA.” (October 19, 2025).
On October 20, 2025, Deluzio commented on broader economic concerns affecting Americans: “We’ve got an economy that is not working for a lot of people.
The American middle class was long the envy of the world—but the vast middle class is shrinking away.
It should be a national mission to pump muscle back into the American Dream and unrig our economy.”
Deluzio, born in Pittsburgh in 1984 and currently residing in Aspinwall, succeeded Conor Lamb as representative for Pennsylvania’s 17th district beginning in 2023. He has consistently voiced support for labor rights and revitalizing domestic manufacturing during his tenure in Congress.
