Congressman Chris Deluzio, who represents Pennsylvania’s 17th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing rail transportation, health insurance premiums, and federal funding for infrastructure projects.
On October 5, 2025, Deluzio announced his intention to reintroduce legislation aimed at improving passenger rail services. He wrote, “I’m reintroducing my Rail Passenger Fairness Act to stop big freight railroads from slowing down passenger rail. We can’t have a 21st century rail transportation network without fixing this problem. Let’s get it done.”
The following day, Deluzio criticized Republican lawmakers for rising healthcare costs. In an October 6 post, he stated, “Republicans in Washington causing health insurance premiums to skyrocket.”
Later that same day, Deluzio commented on the impact of former President Donald Trump’s policies regarding energy and infrastructure funding. He posted, “President Trump’s move to cut billions from energy and infrastructure projects is killing thousands of American construction jobs. It’s not just me saying it…here’s what lots of those workers have to say “
Chris Deluzio has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Conor Lamb as the representative for Pennsylvania’s 17th district. Born in Pittsburgh in 1984 and currently residing in Aspinwall, Deluzio is among several legislators focused on issues impacting both local constituents and national policy.
