Chris Deluzio, serving in Pennsylvania’s 17th district since 2023, has taken to social media recently to address concerns regarding consumer prices and government responsibilities. In a series of tweets, Deluzio provides his perspective on issues affecting his constituents, including escalating egg prices and the influence of corporate power.

On March 28, 2025, Deluzio remarked on the rising consumer cost of eggs. “Folks are seeing these signs in stores and are paying an arm & a leg for a carton of eggs. Big egg producers want you to think that an ‘Act of God’ has made the egg supply plummet, and they have no choice but to raise prices…” Here, Deluzio criticizes major egg producers for suggesting that supply chain disruptions justify high prices.

Continuing the discussion, Deluzio posted a follow-up on the reality of egg production losses. “Here’s a reality check: egg production is only down 3-5% due to bird flu, but big egg corporations are raking in profits 3-6X higher than before avian flu hit. We need federal action to take on this corporate power.” In this tweet, Deluzio challenges the portrayal of limited supply as a justification for substantial profit increases and advocates for government intervention.

Later, Deluzio highlighted the implications of corporate governance for everyday citizens. “This is what you get when you hand our government over to robber barons: they cannot imagine what it’s like to be a senior who counts on Social Security to pay their bills.” By emphasizing the struggles of Social Security-dependent seniors, he reflects on the disconnect between policymakers and constituents.
