COMMITTEE TO RE-ELECT MIKE VEON: More than a dozen residents, staff test positive for coronavirus at western Pa. nursing home

Committee to re- elect mike veon issued the following announcement on April 8.

An Allegheny County nursing home confirmed 18 residents and 11 staff members have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Pittsburgh television station WPXI reported

The Kane Community Living Center’s Glen Hazel location suspended visitation, group activities and communal dining on March 13, but a staff member with no direct patient contact tested positive on March 25, county health officials told WPXI.

Two residents tested positive two days later, and by Tuesday, 29 people who live or work at the facility had the virus.

No coronavirus-related deaths have been reported from the home, and no other cases have sprung up at the three other facilities its parent company operates in the Pittsburgh area, WPXI said.
