GENEVA COLLEGE issued the following announcement on August 27.
The Geneva College community kicks off the Fall 2020 semester at Reeves Field on Wednesday, August 26, with the traditional Academic Convocation Ceremony. Faculty members in formal academic regalia will welcome first-year students at 10:10 a.m.

(in case of rain, Convocation will take place on Friday, Aug. 28 at 10:10 a.m.)
All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to:
wear their Geneva Strong/Storm On shirts and Geneva face masks
join the celebration at 10 a.m. along the pedestrian walkway down to the stadium.
maintain physical distance
Photos and drone footage will be taken of our campus community united and standing together, while compliant with physical distance and other guidelines.
FULL-TIME FACULTY will assemble in the Old Main Circle at 10 a.m., wear their shirts and bring their regalia for the Convocation processional, starting at 10:10 a.m.
FRESHMEN / NEW STUDENTS will assemble along the pedestrian walkway at 10 a.m. LEARNING & TRANSITION MENTORS will assist new students in the 10:10 a.m. processional
UPPERCLASSMEN will assemble at 10 a.m. on the grassy hillside along the pedestrian walkway all the way down to the stadium to celebrate and welcome the freshmen and new students. Any student participating in this way will receive Chapel credit.
