Vogel, Kinkead Highlight Impacts of Capitol Hunger Garden as It Begins Its 14th Season

HARRISBURG – Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) and Rep. Emily Kinkead (D-20), co-chairs of the bicameral, bipartisan Legislative Hunger Caucus, are set to host a press conference to shed light on the enduring impacts of the Capitol Hunger Garden as it embarks on its 14th season.

The press conference, scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, at 10 a.m. at the Capitol Hunger Garden located between the Main Capitol Building and the Ryan Office Building in Harrisburg, aims to showcase the vital role that the garden plays in the local community.

“The Capitol Hunger Garden is a wonderful example of how we can come together to address food insecurity in our community,” remarked Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47).

Expressing her support for initiatives combating hunger, Rep. Emily Kinkead (D-20) stated, “I am proud to co-chair the Legislative Hunger Caucus and support initiatives like the Capitol Hunger Garden that make a real difference in people’s lives.”

The event will feature various speakers from organizations involved in the fight against hunger, including representatives from Downtown Daily Bread, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and the PA Vegetable Growers Association.
