Recent Blue Mountain graduates, Julia Kutz, Kylie Kutz and Taylor Kerstetter came back to their high school alma mater to talk to students about Careers in the Medical Field.
Julia began with an introduction about what a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is, where they can work, how to become an SLP, what Pennsylvania schools have that major and the job outlook for SLP’s. She explained how she’s currently doing an externship at BMEW, and preparing to take her certification exam.
Kylie spoke about a Health Sciences degree and how it is a great introduction to medicine, while helping you decide what path to take. Her speech included information about cores classes, avenues to continue your degree and common minor’s to add to your degree. She also talked about pursing an accelerated nursing program, in order to become a certified RN.
Taylor talked about the endless opportunities for Nursing. She explained how to get a degree, gave many examples of what you can do with a nursing degree and how to get your RN. Taylor is currently working as a nurse and talked about how it’s such a rewarding career.
Those students in attendance really enjoyed the presentations and commented how useful this presentation was, especially for a student that may be undecided about their future. Thanks for giving back to Blue Mountain!!!
