House GOP Policy Committee schedules hearing on Pennsylvania's drug crisis

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Joshua D. Kail, representing Beaver and Washington, alongside Representative Doyle Heffley from Carbon, will host a hearing titled “A State Lost in Addiction: Pennsylvania’s Path to Recovery.” The event is set to address the drug epidemic affecting Pennsylvania, focusing on the severe impact of fentanyl and xylazine. Strategies being implemented to combat this crisis will also be discussed.

Chairman Kail and Rep. Heffley will be joined by members of the committee as well as testifiers from various sectors including the recovery community, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 23 at 9 a.m. It will take place in Room 418 of the House Republican Caucus Room at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.

The session aims to provide insights into Pennsylvania's ongoing battle with addiction and explore potential pathways to recovery. The discussion will be accessible online through a livestream on PAGOPPolicy.com, provided there are no technical issues.
