Congressman Chris Deluzio, representing Pennsylvania's 17th district, shared a series of tweets addressing various legislative efforts and community support initiatives. Deluzio, who succeeded Conor Lamb in 2023, highlighted his recent actions and ongoing commitments to the region.
On November 16, 2024, Congressman Deluzio emphasized the importance of protecting the last U.S. manufacturer of Grain Oriented Electrical Steel located in Western Pennsylvania. He stated, "There's only one U.S. manufacturer of Grain Oriented Electrical Steel left, and it’s here in Western PA. We should protect it." To support this industry, he voted for the Critical Minerals Consistency Act to ensure federal funding eligibility for electrical steel production and safeguard union jobs.
Later that day, Deluzio addressed railroad infrastructure concerns by co-leading a legislative effort alongside Senator Bob Casey and Representative Summer Lee. In his tweet from November 16, he noted that "Too often, railroads don't do enough to maintain the bridges they own across our region." The Rail Bridge Safety & Transparency Act aims to enhance oversight of railroad bridge safety inspections to better protect communities.
In another tweet on November 17, Deluzio informed constituents about financial assistance available through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). He tweeted that individuals struggling with energy bills can apply for a cash grant from now until April 4. He encouraged people to visit the program's website for more information on potential savings.
