Senator Elder Vogel Jr. has been reappointed to significant roles within the Pennsylvania Senate for the 2025-26 legislative session. Vogel will again chair the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and serve as vice chair of the Appropriations Committee.

The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee is responsible for reviewing legislation and overseeing regulations affecting Pennsylvania's farming industry and rural communities. "Agriculture is not only a fundamental part of Pennsylvania’s heritage, it plays a vital role in our present and future as a commonwealth," Vogel stated. He emphasized the importance of policies that support farmers and encourage technological innovation.

In his role as vice chair of the Appropriations Committee, Vogel will participate in assessing legislation for fiscal impact and developing the state budget. "It’s critical that lawmakers keep in mind that state budgets spend money that belongs to the taxpayers, and we have an obligation to allocate it responsibly," he said. He stressed maintaining spending control and ensuring a robust Rainy Day Fund to safeguard against economic downturns.

Reelected for a fifth term in November, Vogel has also been reappointed to several other committees: Banking and Insurance, Environmental Resources and Energy, and Transportation.
