Earlier that day, he attended an inauguration ceremony emphasizing the importance of peaceful power transitions for democracy. Deluzio noted his intention to listen to President Trump regarding efforts to reduce costs, which he identified as a priority for himself and Western Pennsylvania residents: "I attended the inauguration yesterday because the peaceful transfer of power is important to our democracy. But I also wanted to hear directly from President Trump if he'll do anything to bring down costs—a top priority for me and folks in Western PA..."
Later on January 21st, Deluzio participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by @StopBigMoney and @CommonCause. The conversation focused on ending Citizens United as part of efforts to protect democracy and ensure government accountability: "Today, I joined a roundtable conversation hosted by @StopBigMoney and @CommonCause to talk about how we must #EndCitizensUnited to protect our democracy and make sure our government is of, by, and for the People."
