In his first tweet, Deluzio called for a renegotiation of trade deals that he claims have negatively impacted regions like Western Pennsylvania. Later the same day, Deluzio expressed support for targeted trade actions against certain countries. He wrote: "I’m supportive of aggressive trade action focused on our economic foes like Communist China (rather than strategic partners like Canada) and part of a broader strategy to protect and grow American jobs and industry."
Additionally, Deluzio conveyed his excitement about Marc Fogel's return home with the statement: "I’m thrilled that Marc Fogel is finally heading home!"
