Congressman Chris Deluzio, representing Pennsylvania's 17th district since 2023, shared his views on military operations and defense contracting through a series of tweets. Deluzio, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee, highlighted key issues related to military transport and financial oversight.
On February 12, 2025, Congressman Deluzio remarked on the significance of C-17 aircrafts in his district. He stated, "C-17s are iconic military cargo transport planes. Some are in my Western PA district at the Air Force 911th Airlift Wing. They're mission-critical for our armed forces, transporting troops & equipment and conducting airdrops & evacuations all over the globe."
In another tweet posted on the same day, Deluzio criticized certain fiscal policies and practices. He argued that instead of targeting consumer financial watchdogs or scrutinizing Social Security and veterans' benefits, attention should be directed towards defense contractors' pricing strategies. He commented, "Instead of going after consumer financial watchdogs that save the American people money...they ought to look at the rampant price gouging by defense contractors."
Additionally, Congressman Deluzio expressed concern about contractor practices identified by an Inspector General report. In his words: "I served in uniform and now I serve on the House Armed Services Committee in Congress...it took the Inspector General to identify this waste and abuse." He emphasized that proper direction and resources should be allocated to prevent such inefficiencies.
