Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) announced significant financial support for the City of Aliquippa and Ambridge Area School District. The City of Aliquippa has been granted a $148,500 Strategic Management Planning Program (STMP) state grant, while the Ambridge Area School District will benefit from a $583,370 federal Stronger Connections Grant (SCG).

The STMP grant received by the City of Aliquippa aims to assist the municipality in transitioning from Act 47 to achieve long-term sustainability. This grant will enable the city to develop comprehensive multi-year financial plans and establish short- and long-term financial objectives.

On the other hand, the federal SCG awarded to the Ambridge Area School District will be utilized to enhance various aspects of the educational environment. The funds will support initiatives that promote the well-being of students and staff, improve family and community engagement, and implement equitable and inclusive policies and practices within the school district.

In response to the allocation of these grants, Senator Vogel expressed his support and congratulations to both recipients, stating, "I want to congratulate the City of Aliquippa and Ambridge Area School District on being awarded this critical funding." Vogel emphasized the importance of investing in municipal financial improvements and creating safe, productive learning environments for children as key components of community development.

The federal Bipartisan Safer Communities Act facilitated the availability of the SCG, with the aim of establishing safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments in public schools and addressing issues such as bullying, violence, and hate that impact school communities.
