Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) announced, "Our roads act as a lifeline that connects our communities, our commonwealth, and our nation. These municipalities will greatly benefit from these grants as funding is an important part of the road repair and revitalization process to ensure people have safe pathways to use as they travel."
In Beaver County, White Township received $200,000 for roadway improvements throughout the township.
Moving to Butler County, Cranberry Township received $625,000 to install safety and connectivity upgrades at the intersection of Brandt Drive and PA Route 19. Evans City Borough also received $200,000 for the replacement of the Harrison Street culvert, while Lancaster Township secured $230,000 for road repairs and upgrades throughout the township.
The grants are part of the Multimodal Transportation Fund program, aimed at providing financial assistance to various entities to enhance public transportation assets, pedestrian safety, and transit revitalization. The program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development under the direction of the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
